Chris Merritt

Biography

Chris is a licensed Landscape Architect, earning his BLA degree from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2010. Having been with Ground Studio since 2011, he has played a key role in the firm’s growth and development throughout California. His designs explore the unique narrative of each project. The path of design discovery is deeply rooted in existing site patterns that inform contextual, regenerative, and livable landscapes connecting people with nature. He designs at a range of scales from compact urban gardens to expansive rural sites, both private and public. At the core of his work is deep collaboration in site planning, building placement, and crafting a project’s vision with clients and architects.
