Biography
With 28 years of experience, Greg is accomplished in a wide variety of landscape architecture and planning projects. As a principal partner of The HLA Group Landscape Architects and Planners, Greg oversees strategic direction, oversight of firm operations and leads business development practices. The HLA Group, formed in 1980 and located in Sacramento, provides comprehensive design services for a wide variety of public and private based project types throughout California.
As a 1988 graduate of Cal Poly with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Greg has been with The HLA Group for over 21 years and offers extensive design experience on a wide variety of project types with an emphasis on park and sports park master planning, design and documentation. He also has extensive experience in urban design, transportation related design, residential and commercial developments. His approach to projects is to maximize aesthetic design and explore each project's maximum potential, while respecting project budgets and client needs. Greg is skilled at facilitating the community input process and fostering communication among municipalities, regulatory agencies and the communities they serve.
As a long standing member of ASLA, Greg has served in numerous capacities including two terms as California Sierra Chapter President, six years as National Trustee and served two consecutive 3 year terms as a member of the Constitution & Bylaws Committee. He has served on a number of community advisory groups in the community he has lived in for over 20 years including the El Dorado Hills Design Review Committee and the Area Planning & Advisory Committee. He also served on the Parks and Recreation Element committee for the El Dorado County General Plan Update.
