Sigma Lambda Alpha Honor Society - Theta Chapter (SLA)
Faculty Advisor: Miran Day
SLA is a National Honor Society for Landscape Architecture. Membership is by invitation for students that have completed 50% of the BLA program requirements with a GPA of 3.5 and higher. Students who accept this invitation make a one-time payment for national dues and receive a membership certificate and pin. Membership in Sigma Lambda Alpha is an excellent resume addition, recognizing the high quality of students in the department.
Activities of the Cal Poly SLO Theta Chapter are geared toward academic and professional development, such as lectures/presentations, small group meetings with professionals, field trips, and more. In addition, SLA members have coordinated the Student Peer Mentorship Program to support newer students in the department, encouraging and inspiring them toward the professional world of landscape architecture.
SLA members are also eligible to apply for certain academic and travel scholarships. To receive an application packet, please contact Miran Day, Sigma Lambda Alpha advisor.
