Biography
After more than twenty years planning successful communities, John Leehey began a new venture that took him on a four-year international planning journey comprised of more than 30 trips to China and the Middle East. His passion for community development led him to many of the world’s most complex urban environments where he worked on a wide range of projects. The scale of his projects evolved to very high density development including Financial Districts, Town Centers and Tower Residential.
Now that John is back at JZMK Partners, he brings a modern and international urban perspective to the firm’s expanding planning department. His unique skill set bridges the complexity of architecture, planning and landscape architecture to create the best possible plan for project design, authenticity and function. At the same time, his domestic experience has included planning and management of numerous Master Planned Communities, most notably his long term project management of Ladera Ranch in South Orange County, winner of numerous awards and accolades.
John lives in Irvine and enjoys spending free time with his wife Natalia and three sons. He enjoys all sports, is a big Chargers and Clippers fan, and can be found playing golf whenever time allows. He is also a blues and folk guitar enthusiast, backed up by a mean harmonica, rocking out in his garage studio with his sons and friends.
