Biography
Ken Lee is Department Chair of (Sustainable) Horticulture and Landscape Design Department at Saddleback College. After working at landscape design industry and teaching part-time for a long period of time (35+ years), he had decided to pursue his passion of teaching and mentoring as full time. Since 2012, he has been teaching various courses in (sustainable) horticulture and landscape design at Saddleback College. He has been also involved in many college activities in a leading role, such as, curriculum, online education and Career Technical Education (CTE). And, currently he is Co-Chair of CTE Committee and CTE Faculty Liaison for the college.
During his tenure at Saddleback College, he has received numerous awards, including Professor of the Year (for both part-time and full-time faculty categories), President’s Awards for Distinguished Service, Outstanding Service to Disabled Students Program and Services (DSPS), and, Above and Beyond Award for Excellence for community services.
Before teaching full time, Ken was SWA Group IT Principal, spearheading the entire corporate IT infrastructure and staff training, by combining his design and computer technology knowledge to identify and implement the efficient design working environment.
Ken Lee earned his bachelor degree in landscape architecture from Seoul National University, Korea, in 1980, and, master degree in landscape architecture from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York in 1984.
