Biography

Doug is an Associate Principal at CMG Landscape Architecture. He is focused on transforming the public realm at varying scales whether working on public parks, vision/master plans, or marginalized public spaces. Doug brings a passion for connecting people to nature and creating vibrant public spaces that bring people together.

As an expert in designing and managing large complex projects that involve many different disciplines and complicated site constraints, Doug has managed the teams for some of CMG’s largest redevelopment projects, including Treasure Island Master Plan Stage 2 Parks and Open Space, Yerba Buena Island Parks and Open Space, Potrero Power Station, Gateway of Pacific – a 2 million square-foot state-of-the-art life science campus located in South San Francisco, and Saint James Park – a historic 9-acre park in San Jose.

Doug constantly strives to create memorable and engaging spaces that provide a connection to nature, recreational opportunities, and promote social interaction. He has Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and was a selected member of the Cal Poly study abroad program that focused on urban planning and design, historic preservation, and landscape architecture throughout Italy, Germany, and France.
