Faculty Biography

Bret Betnar is a Lecturer in Landscape Architecture at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He teaches courses in studio design, site engineering, and digital communication. He has taught in South Korea, Nebraska, and California, and practiced in both Colorado and Washington, D.C.

After a studio trip to India, while attending the University of Pennsylvania, Bret awoke to the worldwide importance of sanitation access and reform. His studio project, entitled Sh*tscape: Mumbai's Landscape In-Between, received a student Award of Excellence from the American Society of Landscape Architects in 2010.
