Michael Callan

Biography

For over 25 years, Michael Callan has been a residential Landscape Architect on the San Francisco Peninsula; specializing in planting design, grading , and drainage, construction details/specifications, submittals to cities and towns; promoting water-efficient landscaping plans and irrigation systems. Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1991. His studies provided him with a strong foundation and a thorough understanding of plants, topography, soils, irrigation, drainage and design theory. He opened his design studio in 1994, after becoming a licensed Landscape Architect. Since then, he has designed hundreds of unique residential landscapes, incorporating elements such as water features, arbors, fireplaces, outdoor kitchen areas, detailed plantings, and accent lighting; continuously refining his design process and utilizing new technology to provide superior service.
