Biography

Tala Fatolahzadeh is the Principal Landscape Architect for the City of San Jose's Public Works department. In her role, Tala oversees the City's Capital Improvement Program and manages a talented group of landscape architects, architects, and engineers on the project delivery of all public facilities within the City of San Jose. Within her team, Tala oversees the design and construction of over 200 projects a year, which can include parks, trails, community centers, fire stations, police stations, etc. Working in the public sector, Tala enjoys the challenge of intersecting landscape architecture with politics and community development.

Tala loves to stay engaged in the profession and currently also sits on the ASLA Northern California Chapter Board as a California Council liaison (CC-ASLA). She is a licensed landscape architect and lives in the bay area with her husband (also a Cal Poly grad!) and a rambunctious sheepadoodle named Ziggy.
